we need your help
The project in its entirety is $4.5 million, and is multi-stepped: acquisition, renovation, code and green standard upgrades, transition, and sustainability. To move clients into the new building, we need the community's help in fulfilling our $4.5 million dollar goal. The YWCA has received a 40-year, no-interest $1.35 million loan from the Housing Finance Commission. This loan is forgiveable provided the building remain low-income housing for the 40 year duration.
acquisition
The total acquisition cost is $1,900,000.
construction
Total at $1,875,000. This includes the cost of upgrading the building to meet the needs of a secure shelter facility and the requirements of the state, county, and city.
transition costs
$125,000 to seamlessly move the smooth running shelter facility from one building to another.
sustainability and capital reserves
$600,000 total. We recognize that a second building creates new costs that fall outside of our prior budget cycle, and want to be good stewards in our commitment to offer safety to women and children for years to come.
